Our Partners

Better together.

NRCF's impact is built on strong partnerships. From our primary strategic relationship with Newark Rugby Club to our network of schools, employers, funders and community organisations — every partner plays a vital role in creating connected pathways for young people.

Primary Strategic Partner

Newark Rugby Club

The Foundation and the Club — distinct roles, shared purpose.

Newark Rugby Club is our primary strategic partner and the long-term rugby home for the young people we work with. Our relationship is built on a clear and complementary division of roles: the Foundation creates engagement, removes barriers and builds the bridges that bring young people into rugby; the Club provides the rugby home — membership, age-grade rugby, coaching, retention and ongoing player development.

Foundation role

  • Drives engagement and participation through schools and community
  • Identifies and supports players ready to transition to club rugby
  • Removes barriers to access — financial, social and cultural
  • Delivers the Player Pathways transition programme (NLD-funded)
  • Provides Post-16 education and development through the Newark Rugby Academy

Club role

  • Provides the long-term rugby home for transitioned players
  • Delivers age-grade rugby, coaching and player development
  • Manages membership, retention and the club environment
  • Supports the Newark Barbarians Sixth Form programme
  • Provides facilities and infrastructure for Academy delivery

Education & Training Partners

Our education partners enable us to deliver accredited qualifications, Post-16 programmes and skills development alongside our rugby and community work.

You Can Do Sport (YCDS) is our co-delivery partner for the Newark Rugby Academy — the Post-16 rugby and education programme based at the YMCA Newark Campus. YCDS combines professional coaching with nationally recognised qualifications, delivering the Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development alongside the rugby programme. Students gain UCAS points equivalent to three A-Levels, with clear progression routes into university, employment and professional sport.
